On November 4th, in Milan, Mons. Carlo Faccenini officiated the appointment of Fr. Alberto Avi, LC as the parish priest of the church of the Holy Martyrs Nazaro and Celso.
Present were Fr. Manuel Álvarez Vorrath, LC, territorial director of Italy, Don Enrico Galli, responsible for the Quarto Oggiaro deanery, and the previous parish priest, Fr. Marco Vecchierelli.
Also accompanying Fr. Alberto was a group of legionaries engaged in pastoral work in Padua, Rome, Florence, and Palermo; consecrated members of Regnum Christi, and a large group of members and friends of Regnum Christi, as well as the parish faithful who were celebrating the appointment of the new parish priest.
Mons. Faccenini urged Fr. Alberto to always be before the sheep, with the sheep, and in front of the sheep as a good shepherd, always praying to the Holy Spirit to guide him in recognizing the right moments and situations to help his flock confidently.
“Fr. Alberto, you probably feel very committed to this task entrusted to you by the Lord, but be assured that your parishioners trust you and care about you,” Mons. Faccenini commented. “They will not forget you, and because they will not forget you, you will not forget them either. Much of what you give will be returned to you in abundance from your flock,” he concluded.
