Legionary Religious of Christ Receive Ministries of Lector and Acolyte in Rome
On Sunday, May 21, 39 Legionaries of Christ received the ministry of lector and one brother received the ministry of acolyte in a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Father Eduardo Robles-Gil, L.C., in the chapel of the Rome Center for Higher Studies.
Father Eduardo commented in his homily: “Identification with Christ is gradually happening […] In terms of St. Paul, we are spiritual persons, guided by the Spirit. We have a different relationship with God our Lord; we can call Him Father.”
Later he said: “There is a transformation in our way of seeing life because we see it from God, from His will. And it is a process of transformation. And the Church has wanted to show this process, on the path to priesthood, through the ministries. We receive current graces from God our Lord that bear fruit when we offer God that well-disposed heart.”
“The ministry is something that the Church, pedagogically, places on the path to priesthood and brings them closer to the altar, so that you become more aware of what transformation in Christ our Lord means. So that you become aware of what the priesthood represents for the Church. And to us, priests, it tells us that we are responsible for manifesting God’s presence among His Church,” Father Eduardo added during the homily.
