The members of Regnum Christi in Medellín, in the context of reviewing and updating the identity and mission of the Movement within the Church, have been organizing a series of activities to reflect on the importance of this moment and the need to live it firsthand, based on a profound experience of Christ.

Therefore, in addition to the institutional process currently underway through various sections with defined materials on formation and discernment, the goal is for as many people as possible to engage with the process and contribute ideas, actions, and procedures that help build the Movement that the Church is calling us to.

Liliana Gómez, responsible for the revision of the Statutes in Medellín, comments on this: “We have had the opportunity to approach many people who, for one reason or another, did not participate in the activities of the Movement, and also to encourage those who have not been able to have a constant presence in the section. Approaching and listening to each person’s experience and seeing it in the light of God has allowed us to thank for what we live and to see the mission ahead of us. We better understand the dimension of the personal process to which Christ has called and invited us to build His Church.”

These reflection days highlighted the need for a brief preparatory seminar to live the discernment phase. Therefore, on July 11 and 12, the “RC Laity Encounter, a new perspective” was held, in which more than sixty members from the various sections of Medellín and a young woman from Manizales participated, accompanied by some Legionary priests and consecrated members of Regnum Christi from the area.

Father Josef Hare, LC, gave a talk on dispositions for discernment. “In recent years, I have been able to discover one of the most beautiful dimensions of my Legionary vocation: being part of this spiritual family that is Regnum Christi,” he commented.

Guadalupe Gómez, a consecrated member of Regnum Christi, who has been accompanying the laity since the beginning of the process, said: “Wanting to help in this journey, I was able to renew my commitment to service in Regnum Christi since my consecration. Each participant in this meeting reaffirmed that Regnum Christi, in addition to being a way of life, is a path to holiness.”

“I value how the process has contributed to restoring trust and giving a correct supernatural dimension to God’s plan in our personal and Movement history,” affirmed Patricia Candela, assistant of the ladies’ section in Medellín.
