He was born on January 9, 1970, in Illapel, Coquimbo, Chile. He entered the Congregation of the Legionaries of Christ in Santiago on January 3, 1987, and was ordained a priest on December 22, 2001. He obtained a Diploma in Humanities, a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy, and a Doctorate in Theology.

He has taught humanities, philosophy, and theology for several years in Spain, Mexico, and Italy, and has also collaborated in the formation of future Legionary priests as prefect of studies and spiritual director.

He worked in the General Secretariat of the Congregation of the Legionaries of Christ from 1996 to 2005 and as assistant to the General Prefecture of Studies of the Legion from 2008 to 2010. He was later appointed General Prefect of Studies of the Congregation, a position he held until 2017.

Since 2006, he has been a professor of dogmatic theology at the Faculty of Theology and at the Higher Institute of Religious Sciences and is currently also a visiting professor at the Faculty of Theology of the Teresianum in Rome. From 2013 to 2019 he served as Academic Vice-Rector, and since July 2019 he has been Rector of the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum.

He is currently the Rector of the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome.
