He was born on July 11, 1959, in Aguascalientes, Mexico. He joined Regnum Christi in the youth section of Monterrey in 1989. He entered the Novitiate of the Legion of Christ in Salamanca, Spain, in 1981. He was ordained a priest on August 17, 1993. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and his licentiate in Systematic Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. From 2021 to 2023, he pursued a master’s degree in Strategic Leadership at Anáhuac University in Cancún.
In the Legion of Christ, from 1985 to 1989 he served on the formation team of the Legionaries’ Novitiate in Cheshire, United States, and from 1990 to 1993 he was a formator at the Center for Higher Studies in Rome. From 1993 to 1994, he served as superior of the community of the General Directorate. From 1994 to 1999, he worked as assistant for apostolate in the North America Territory. From 1999 to 2008, he was assistant for apostolate to the territorial director of New York, and from 2004 to 2010 he also served in the same role for the Atlanta Territory.
From 2010 to 2016, he was Territorial Director of Monterrey. From 2016 to 2022, he was the delegate of the Territorial Director of Mexico and Central America for the dioceses of Cancún-Chetumal, Mérida, Guatemala, and El Salvador. He served as Territorial Administrator of the Legion of Christ from October 2022 to July 2023.
He currently serves as superior of the Territorial Directorate of Mexico and Territorial Head of Apostolate for Regnum Christi in the territory of Mexico and Central America.
