The assembly brought together 24 priests, including delegates elected by the communities and participants by office, among them the Territorial Director, Fr. Savio Zanetta, L.C. The Central Commission of the Assembly coordinated the sessions and ensured a transparent and precise voting process through electronic systems.

The purpose of our assembly is to contribute ideas to the General Chapter on essential issues of formation, religious life, vocational promotion, and apostolic mission. These ideas were initially collected from Legionaries across the Territory in the form of proposals.
After breakfast, we began our work. Following an initial vote on the 150 proposals submitted, 24 received more than 50% approval. From there, the Assembly began a sincere and fraternal debate on the proposals with divergent opinions. The day concluded with a final vote on these points.

Territory of Chile

The Legionaries of the Territory of Chile and Argentina concluded their Territorial Assembly, a key gathering in preparation for the ordinary General Chapter of the Congregation, to be held in Rome starting in January 2026. From August 12 to 15, twenty-four Legionaries of the territory met at the Salesian Spirituality Center in Lo Cañas, La Florida, to reflect and make proposals regarding their life and apostolic mission.
A central point of the assembly was the unanimous decision to address the challenges of their life and mission from a perspective of strengths and opportunities. The goal is to “project from the positive,” giving thanks for the “spiritual riches received” and discerning how to make them fruitful. This approach seeks to renew the hope and apostolic dynamism of the Congregation.
The meeting, sustained in an atmosphere of prayer and fraternity, was marked by the Eucharist and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, “source of our communion with Christ and root of our mission,” the delegates stated in a letter to their fellow Legionaries. During the sessions, the Legionaries reviewed the proposals of their communities, synthesized contributions, and, in a “climate of listening and discernment,” approved twenty-three proposals to be presented to the General Chapter. These are grouped into four main areas: identity, religious and priestly life, vocational promotion, and apostolic mission.
