The 26th of October, some students from the Vocational Center of Rionegro, along with the novices and families of the Regnum Christi, carried out urban missions in the square of the San Nicolás cathedral. There, the missionaries carried out various activities with passersby and invited them to pray before the Blessed Sacrament, to go to the sacrament of reconciliation, and to participate in the Holy Mass.
After the missions, Fr. Edison Benjiema, vicar of the San Nicolás Cathedral, told the missionaries: «The work done by you and each of your brother priests, laypeople, and minor seminarians helped many people to approach again the sacrament of reconciliation. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and know that the doors of the Cathedral Church are open because we are one Church seeking holiness and, above all, seeking the salvation of all souls. May God reward you.»
«It was a true experience of what the Church is: children, young people, and adults with the same purpose, to bring Christ to everyone. We were there selflessly to lead them to Christ and tell them that Jesus listens to them and wants the best for everyone,» commented Marly Vaena, coordinator of the ladies’ section of Regnum Christi in Eastern Antioquia, about the urban missions.
Likewise, Juan José López, a student from the Vocational Center of Río Negro, mentioned that he was very impacted by seeing God’s action on several people who approached the sacrament of confession, «asking intentions from people and then taking them to the seminary to pray for each one of them,» and he added: «Seeing the seminarians offer their prayers and sacrifices for those people created a great atmosphere among us. That showed me what the Church is: alive and pulsating among us.»
