Fr. Juan Sabadell, L.C.

The Rev. Juan Sabadell, L.C., was born on March 22, 1966, in Barcelona, Spain. He joined ECYD in 1978 and transferred to Regnum Christi in 1981. He entered the Novitiate in Salamanca, Spain, on September 14, 1984.

He made his first religious profession on September 15, 1986, and his perpetual profession on April 21, 1992. He was ordained a priest on January 2, 2001, in Rome. He holds a degree in philosophy from the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum. From 1991 to 1993, he served as administrator and formator at the Pontifical International College María Mater Ecclesiae in Rome. From 1993 to 1995, he was a member of the formation team at the Higher Studies Center in Rome. From 1996 to 2006, he was the territorial administrator for North America. From 2004 to 2007, he served as director of the fundraising office for the same territory.

From 2007 to 2009, he exercised his ministry in Madrid, Spain, as chaplain of Everest Monteclaro and Highlands El Encinar schools, and as an ECYD assistant. He was prefect of philosophy studies at Thornwood from 2009 to 2011, teaching courses in Metaphysics, General Ethics, and Social Ethics. From 2010 to 2012, he was secretary of the North American Territorial Commission for the revision of the Constitutions. He also served as secretary of the Central Commission for the revision of the Constitutions from October 2012.

In 2014, he participated as a delegate in the Extraordinary General Chapter of the Legion of Christ, during which he was appointed Fourth General Counselor by Pope Francis for a period of 6 years. Since then, he has been collaborating in the General Government of the Legionaries of Christ as director of the mission area.
