The Father José LaBoy, L.C., was born on March 29, 1969, in New York City, United States. He entered the Vocational Center of Center Harbor, New Hampshire in August 1985. He entered the novitiate in September 1986. He took perpetual vows in October 1994. He was ordained a priest on December 22, 2001. He holds a degree in philosophy and theology from the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum. From 1990 to 1994 and from 1998 to 2001, he carried out his apostolic practices as a professor of classical humanities in Salamanca and Cheshire. From 2001 to 2007, he was the study coordinator and lecturer at the Institute of Religious Sciences at the Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum. From 2008 to 2012, he was a professor of philosophy and theology at the then Higher Studies Center of Thornwood.

Since 2012, he has been a professor of theology, director of studies at the Interdiocesan Seminary Maria Mater Ecclesiae of Brazil, and from 2013 to 2019, he served as territorial prefect of studies. Currently, he is the superior of the apostolate community at the Interdiocesan Seminary Maria Mater Ecclesiae of Brazil and a counselor of the Brazil territory.
