The Father George Sven Elsbett, L.C., was born on April 30, 1972, in London, England, but he spent his childhood and adolescence in Germany, Canada, and the United States. He entered the Legion of Christ in 1993 in Bad Münstereifel, Germany. He made his first profession on September 16, 1995, and his perpetual profession on September 8, 2001. He studied ecclesiastical studies at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum, obtaining a license in philosophy. He was ordained a priest on December 24, 2003, in Rome. He has served his ministry from 2004 to 2018 as a local apostolate coordinator in Budapest and Austria, also collaborating during those years as community superior, youth section director, and gentlemen’s section director in Austria. From 2015 to the present, he has served as a territorial counselor and, since 2018, as a local apostolate coordinator in Austria.
