Fr. Florencio Sánchez, L.C., was born on October 11, 1951, in Mexico City. He studied at the Cumbres Institute in that city. He joined Regnum Christi in July 1969 and consecrated his life to God on April 13, 1975. Shortly thereafter, he joined the Legion of Christ, where he made his perpetual profession on October 8, 1981, in Rome. He was ordained a priest on August 20, 1983. He studied actuarial science at Anahuac University in Mexico City.

He holds a degree in philosophy from the Pontifical Gregorian University. Since 1983, he has exercised his ministry in Madrid as director of the youth section of Regnum Christi (1983-1991), the women’s section from 1991 to 2000, and then from 2015 to 2018 the adult sections. He was superior of the apostolate house of Conde de la Cimera from 1983 to 2012.

He was chaplain of Francisco de Vitoria University in Madrid from 2004 to 2010. He was director of the adult sections of Regnum Christi in Madrid and superior of the apostolate community of La Cota, in the same city.
