To the Legionaries of Christ and members of Regnum Christi
With great human sadness and supernatural joy I inform you that Cardinal Velasio De Paolis passed away in Rome this morning at the age of 81, after several months of battling cancer.
I invite you to entrust him to your prayers so that God our Lord grants him eternal rest and may perpetual light shine upon him.
Personally, I feel immense gratitude for his work as papal delegate, for the testimony of his life, his dedication, his wisdom, and his advice.
His patient and prudent guidance during nearly four years will forever be part of the history of the Legion and Regnum Christi.
We will soon inform you of the details of the funeral Mass in Rome.
