Come Your Kingdom!

To the members of Regnum Christi in Mexico
Dearly beloved in Jesus Christ:
I write to you from Rome with great sorrow and concern for the tragedy that yesterday, September 19, shook Mexico City, Morelos, and Puebla. Seeing through social media and news the extensive damage, collapsed buildings, injured and missing persons, and above all the human losses, we must turn our eyes to God and ask Him for help.
It is moving to see neighbors coming out into the streets of the affected areas, organizing themselves, forming human chains to rescue trapped people from the rubble, using buckets, shovels, and anything else in order to help and alleviate the suffering that many people in our country are now experiencing.
As in other similar tragedies, members of Regnum Christi also have much to contribute during these days, whether through civil and ecclesiastical organizations, or through our universities, which have distinguished themselves by their ability to organize volunteers to assist those in need.
Pope Francis constantly reminds us that we must be a Church on the move, proactive, where we cooperate with one another, working as a team to help as much as we can. I have prayed a lot for everyone, but especially for you, your families, and friends.
Let us place all these intentions in the hands of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and entrust to God the souls of those who have passed away, so that the peace of Christ may now be their rest, and so that the presence of the Blessed Virgin Mary may be a comfort to their families.
Most affectionately in Jesus Christ,
Fr. Eduardo Robles Gil, LC
