On the occasion of the liturgical Solemnity of Our Lady of Sorrows, the General Director reflects on aspects of the Congregation’s history, pain, and hope.
This September 15, the Solemnity of Our Lady of Sorrows, Fr. John Connor, L.C., General Director of the Legionaries of Christ, sent a letter to all Legionaries in which he shared details about his health that led him to delegate executive governance a few months ago.
The central theme of the letter is a call to all Legionaries to look at the history of the Congregation with truth and hope, recognizing the pain caused by the founder, the importance of listening to the victims, and the steps taken toward truth, transparency, and a deeper knowledge of the history of the Legion.
Finally, he invites all Legionaries to embrace fragility as a path of grace and to transform their own history into a testimony of redemption and mission, under the protection of Our Lady of Sorrows.
