The fifth day took place among plenary meetings to present the summaries of the proposals and receive feedback from the delegates.
On this day, the delegates of the General Convention dedicated Friday to plenary meetings to share and vote on the suggested acts. In these meetings, the summaries of each group’s proposals were presented, leaving time for reflection and feedback from the delegates.
After the presentation of the proposed acts, the participants had a prayerful time to ask for light and discern:
- What is God telling us at this moment?
- What does the Lord of the Regnum Christi want in light of these considerations?
Faced with the challenge of turning all the reflections into acts, some delegates commented:
“It is a challenge because it involves mutual listening, discernment, stopping to count some things that provoke positive or not-so-positive reactions. It involves gathering and listening again to discern what comes from God and what does not come from God.” (Elena Orazabal, consecrated, territory of Chile).
“It has been enriching to listen and discuss, to then choose what is proposed and what is not, this is quite a challenge. We have found points of consensus that have emerged in the teams; if it is clear, it will have to be somehow an act.” (Fernando Rincón, consecrated layperson).
At noon, Father Pablo Solís, L.C., presided over the Eucharistic celebration, and the homily was preached by Father Juan Pablo Durán, L.C., who, being the first Friday of the month, reflected on the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
“What is the foundation of our hope? It is before our eyes: it is the Sacred Heart of Jesus. What is the Heart of Jesus? It is a human heart like ours but overflowing with God’s love. It is the love that created the universe and melts with love for each one; it is the center of all our formation to resemble Him, even a little more. The Heart of Jesus wants to share His love with us like a flame reaching our hearts. Holiness is to burn with that fire of love from the Heart of Jesus.”
On Saturday, May 4th, the last day of the General Convention, the conclusions will be discussed in plenary meetings, and at the end of the afternoon, the closing Mass will be held at the International College of the Legionaries of Christ.
