This is how the Convention is going. “Jesus Christ sends us on mission”

The sixth and final day featured two plenary sessions to continue voting on the mechanics of the 2030 General Convention and to outline the acts, as well as the recommendations and assignments made to the general government. At the close, a Eucharist of thanksgiving to the Holy Spirit.

It began on Saturday, the sixth and last day of the ordinary General Convention of the Regnum Christi with adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. The prayer times were important for moments of discernment and listening to the Holy Spirit throughout the convention.

Subsequently, two plenary sessions were held to continue voting on the mechanics of the 2030 General Convention and to outline the acts, as well as the recommendations and assignments made to the general government. All of this will be shared through an official statement in a few days.

Francisco Gámez, a layperson attending the General Governing College, shared how they managed to define the acts:

“When a member of Regnum Christi speaks about the mission, there is always passion and eagerness to do more, to think outside the box, and I believe that is the main challenge: How to channel these lights of the Holy Spirit into concrete acts? Thank God, we have the statutes, the regulations, we have a clear field where we can effectively concretize and channel much of the discussion that has taken place.”

During the closing session, Father John Connor, L.C., thanked all the delegates for their dedication and listening time:

“I want to thank my brothers from the central commission and the Governing College for all the work they have done over the past year. We are entering a new door, and Jesus Christ is launching us into the world. We want to share the charism, that everyone has a profound encounter with Him: families, marriages, youth, people from schools and universities. I invite you to be those apostles who give momentum to their sections, localities, and territories. Thank you for your participation and trust.”

The delegates moved to the International College of the Legionaries of Christ to attend the closing Mass of the General Convention. During it, Father Connor stated that “At this moment of the closing of our first General Convention of Regnum Christi, our hearts are full of joy and gratitude, together with Mary, for all the good that God has done. It is a moment to celebrate the work accomplished, to thank for the presence of the Holy Spirit among us, and for each person’s sincere commitment, who seeks with generosity and dedication the best for the Kingdom.”
