Various Legionary seminarians of Christ took advantage of the Christmas festivities to fulfill their mission as apostles according to the heart of Christ: they were on the streets to accompany and pray for the intentions of passersby.

Being a legionary is being an apostle according to a unique style. What does this mean? According to the letter dated September 15, 2022, titled “The Legionary Apostle According to the Heart of Christ”, sent by the general director, the Legion lives the essence of its identity in a purified, renewed, and strengthened way. That is, a Legion that faithfully reflects what the Church entrusted to us when it approved our Constitutions. For example, number three of the Constitutions states that:

The life in the Congregation, as expressed by its name “Legionaries of Christ,” involves a total dedication to God and to men, in a united and organized body. Experiencing the love of Jesus Christ, the legionary understands and feels the urgency of:

1. Centering his entire existence on Christ through a real, personal, virile, and passionate love for Him.

2. Living authentic charity as Christ testifies and preaches in His Gospel.

3. Announcing to everyone the merciful love of God and leading them to the redemptive encounter with Christ.

And there are many ways to express this Christ-centered life. One of them is the activity carried out by several legionary seminarians, members of the Novitiate and College of Humanities in Cheshire, Connecticut (United States), who went out into the streets of Manhattan (United States) to pray for the needs of passersby. White papers, a wooden cross, and a lot of faith characterized this day.
