Throughout this year, several members of the Legion of Christ published books on various topics ranging from promoting prayer, spiritual life, bioethics, natural law, and the thought of Ratzinger, among others.
The members of the Legion of Christ, in addition to their initial and ongoing academic formation, seek to develop an intellectual apostolate that addresses themes related to spiritual and supernatural life, as well as dialogue with current thought streams for their evangelizing mission:

From the Ratio Studiorum of the Legion of Christ (n. 34): “Beyond initial and ongoing academic formation, the challenge of the intellectual apostolate lies in engaging in dialogue with current thought trends, especially those shaping the cultural course. This task is an important part of evangelization. It is carried out through teaching (both in formation houses and in universities or colleges), research, publishing, and other dissemination methods that, with wisdom and effectiveness, face the challenges of the moment by balancing appreciation for the riches of the past with the proper use of progress in knowledge and human achievements.”

We present some of the books and texts published by various members of the Legion and consecrated members during 2023, documents that will surely help promote faith, thought, and reason.

Traditions of Natural Law in Medieval Philosophy (self-published)

Theme: Reflection on natural law reaches its peak during the Middle Ages. Christian thinkers not only develop the first systematic explanations of natural law and lay the groundwork for subsequent reflection, but Jewish and Islamic traditions also develop their own canonical statements on the moral authority of reason versus divine law. Some believe they articulate their own theories of natural law through this.

 P. Gustavo Godínez, L.C., and H. John Kenny, L.C.
(Mexico and Central America Territory and Rome Delegation)

The History of Your History I: Biblical Meditations for Your Daily Life (self-published)

Theme: The Bible is the Living Word. The Word that is not incarnate means very little. But the Word, which from the beginning was revealed in many ways and through many means, has taken on a face in Jesus Christ. This work aims to help the reader be found by the gaze of that face, which wants to come out to meet us, reminding us that we are unique, special, and deeply loved.
