This May 31, 2023, day of the Visitation of the Virgin to her cousin Saint Elizabeth, the Regnum Christi Federation celebrates the fourth anniversary since the Holy See erected it and approved its Statutes.
With the pontifical approval of May 31, 2019, the Church recognized Regnum Christi as a path within its bosom for men to encounter God. In that same act, it provided it with a juridical structure in the form of a «federation», as a safe means to preserve the charism and to grow in the spiritual, apostolic and community spheres. This is why Msgr. José Rodríguez Carballo said that the Regnum Christi Federation is, above all, a «structure of communion» (Letter of May 31, 2019) that gives juridical expression, therefore concrete and -so to speak- tangible, to «the unity and fraternal communion of the components of the spiritual family» (Decree of canonical approval, May 31, 2019). In this way, the pontifical approval strengthens the moral unity and spiritual and mission communion that already existed, but which lacked adequate juridical support.
Today the General Directive College sent a letter to all Regnum Christi members of the different vocations where it mentions that, «in celebrating this fourth anniversary, we find ourselves on the path of preparation for the first General Convention of Regnum Christi scheduled for the days between April 29 and May 4, 2024. It will be the first ordinary convention of Regnum Christi and places us on the path of synodality that the Church follows guided by Pope Francis. It puts us in the key of mission in today’s world and the society in which we live: we seek to listen, all together, to the voice of the Lord who invites us, according to our specific charism, to make Christ present amid the needs of the world and the Church».
«Listen. We want this path to transform us into men and women of listening. Learning to live listening to the Holy Spirit, to what the Lord shows us day by day in contact with people and with the realities that present themselves to us, so that Christ may reign, and in the encounter with them reveal to them the love of His Heart», the letter adds.
«May the Holy Spirit, whose feast we celebrated on May 28, grant us a prayerful heart, that knows how to see what reality tells us, listen to that to which we are called and respond to what the Lord asks of us to live with greater fullness our life and our mission from the Heart of Christ the Apostle», it concludes.
