On November 1st, the Archbishop of New York, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, presided over the Mass of Installation for the new Pastor of Old St. Patrick’s Basilica, Fr. Daniel Ray, L.C.

Fr. Ray’s appointment as the new Rector of this church, entrusted to the Legion of Christ, was made public in mid-August 2025. In fact, the Legionary priests of the Rye community will collaborate with him. “It is a beautiful, historic, and vibrant church,” says Fr. Daniel. “We have been blessed to collaborate for several years and we hope to continue this valuable partnership with the community.”

Fr. Daniel was ordained a priest in December 2006 and also serves as Superior of the Legionary community in Rye, New York.
