Born in León, Guanajuato (Mexico), on April 17, 1967, Fr. Alejandro Fuentes Hernández entered the novitiate of the Legionaries of Christ in 1984, professing his religious vows in 1986 and being ordained a priest on December 22, 1996, in Rome.

He studied philosophy at the Pontifical Gregorian University and theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum (APRA), obtaining a bachelor’s degree in theology. His academic and pastoral formation prepared him for a career marked by formative service and governance in various communities of the Congregation.

Throughout his priestly life, Fr. Alejandro has carried out multiple missions in different countries, including Mexico, Italy, Ireland, and Brazil. In Brazil, he was rector of vocational centers in São Paulo and Curitiba, superior of apostolic houses in Porto Alegre, Dublin, and São Paulo, and collaborated directly in the animation of the apostolate and in the formation of young people and religious. He was also director of the Semper Altius Network of Schools in Brazil.

Currently, he is superior of the Legionaries of Christ community in São Paulo, territorial vicar and first counselor of the Legionaries of Christ in Brazil, as well as national director of vocational promotion. Recognized for his pastoral wisdom, approachability, and missionary spirit, Fr. Alejandro is enthusiastically dedicated to the integral formation of vocations and the strengthening of the Legionary mission in the country.
