On Thursday, July 3rd, Brother José Luis Martínez, L.C., was ordained a deacon in the parish of St. John the Evangelist in Santiago de Veraguas, Panama. He is the first Panamanian from the congregation of the Legionaries of Christ to receive this ministry. The ceremony was attended by family, friends, members of Regnum Christi, and faithful from the local community.

During the homily, Monsignor Audilio Aguilar, bishop of the diocese, addressed the new deacon with profound and challenging words: “A call that demands a response, a response of self-giving to live out the vocation.” He urged him to present himself to the people as a consecrated man, chosen to announce the message of salvation, and to live his ministry with charity and joy.
