Promoted by the Legion of Christ in service of the Church, the Way of Guadalupe not only consolidates as a pilgrimage destination but also as a realization of spiritual and material well-being for the inhabitants of the area.
One aspect of the mission of the Legionaries of Christ, “the promotion of justice, charity, and solidarity with the most needy,” is included in their Constitutions (cf. CLC 4, 3). One of its realizations is the “Way of Guadalupe” (https://www.caminodeguadalupe.org/).
This is a route in the Sierra of Veracruz, Mexico, inspired by stops or stations associated with the Virgin of Guadalupe. The Way of Guadalupe guides pilgrims to encounter God, hand in hand with the Virgin Mary, along the slopes of Mexico’s most beautiful peak: Pico de Orizaba.
The mind and heart behind this initiative is Father Evaristo Sada, L.C., who recently released a video, almost a mini-documentary, that allows us to understand what this Path means spiritually and the good it is doing for the people living around the stops or stations. We present it below:
