“Jesus Christ is and means everything to me“, this is the title of the new spirituality book compiled by Fr. Celso Júlio da Silva L.C. It is a wonderful posthumous work that motivates us to grow in interior life with the spiritual writings, on the most varied themes of Christian life, left by Fr. David Boix L.C., who passed away in 2020 in Rome. Details about the book’s development, its purpose and particulars about the author can be appreciated in the introduction that Fr. Celso, as compiler, presents at the beginning of the book.

Biography of Fr. David Boix Soriano, L.C.

Fr. David Boix, L.C., was born on April 11, 1934 in Crevillente, province of Alicante. He entered the Novitiate of the Legion of Christ, for the first time, in Rome in the summer of 1953. Months later he was diagnosed with an intestinal occlusion and made his profession of vows in articulo mortis. Shortly afterwards he had to leave the Congregation due to his delicate state of health.

He managed to recover, but by that time he had already lost contact with the Legion of Christ and was even told that it no longer existed. He entered the seminary of the Archdiocese of Barcelona and on September 17, 1961 he was ordained priest.

In the 1980s he heard about the Congregation again. Thanks to the father of Fr. Xavier Carné, L.C., he reestablished contact with the Legion of Christ. He was pastor of the Holy Family in Barcelona, Spain.

In 2008 he expressed his desire to become a Legionary of Christ again, and in 2009, at 75 years old, he requested permission from the Cardinal-Archbishop of Barcelona, Luis Martínez Sistach, to become a religious again. The cardinal welcomed his petition. In that same year he entered the Novitiate in Salamanca, Spain. On September 12, 2010 he made his vows. On March 27, 2012 Cardinal Velasio de Paolis received the perpetual profession of Fr. David Boix, L.C.

In 2014 Fr. David Boix, L.C., was transferred to Rome as confessor of the International College of the Congregation. On the morning of February 14, 2020 he passed away leaving a legacy of vocation and service.
