More than eight months have already passed since the day of diaconal ordination. It went by very quickly! There is surely the change of rhythm between seminary and parish life, and then there are especially so many new things to discover and learn every day. What am I particularly a witness to? Well, the fullness of life that one feels when serving others from God. What is more joyful than announcing good news? I dedicate myself precisely to that every day: “to bring the Good News to the poor, to proclaim liberty to captives, and sight to the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim an acceptable year of the Lord.” Because in addition to that, it is the Lord who pays for the round for everyone; I only distribute! Thus, I experience abundant life through the gift of myself in service of Christ’s mission, sowing life into hearts.

Father Martin Baud was born on August 21, 1991, in Brittany. He has two older sisters and two younger sisters. He first encountered ECyD at the age of ten by participating in weekends and summer camps. In third grade, he decided to enter the Apostolic School of Méry-sur-Marne, where he continued his studies until obtaining his baccalaureate. He then entered in 2009 the novitiate of the Legionaries of Christ in Italy, studied classical humanities in Spain, earned a license in philosophy in Rome, completed three years of apostolic internship in Santiago, Chile, and returned to Rome to conclude initial formation with a license in theology. Currently, Fr. Martin is responsible for youth ministry at Notre-Dame d’Auteuil (catechesis, youth ministry, patronage, ECYD) in Paris.
This quote from Saint Mark influenced his decision to follow the Lord: “Jesus looked at him, and loved him. He said to him: One thing you lack. Go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” (Mark 10:21).
