Fallece el P. Carlos Ranninger, LC

On April 22, Father Carlos Ranninger, LC (1969-2022), passed away in the city of Santa Marta, Colombia.

Father Carlos was on vacation with his community in the city of Santa Marta. On the morning of April 22, during breakfast, he felt a severe chest pain and, upon arriving at the hospital for a check-up, suffered a cardiac arrest.

With deep sorrow, but with hope set on heaven, we ask you to raise your prayers for the eternal rest of Father Carlos, and to entrust his family and friends in these moments of sadness.

Father Carlos Ranninger Hernández was born in Madrid on June 29, 1969, the third of six children. He joined Regnum Christi on May 6, 1984, actively participating in apostolic activities in the Almagro section (Madrid) for 14 years. After working for a year as an engineer and undergoing a process of vocational discernment, he entered the Legion in 1998.

He was ordained a priest in 2009 in Rome. He exercised his early years of ministry in adult pastoral work of Regnum Christi in Budapest, Hungary, and later in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. From 2012 to 2017, he collaborated in the novitiate in Germany, first as a studies prefect and later as an administrator.

In 2017, he arrived in the Colombia-Venezuela territory where he carried out his mission mainly in the adult pastoral of Bogotá. To date, he was serving as the director of the ladies’ section of Regnum Christi in this city.

A condolence book has been enabled at this link for those who wish to express their feelings and memories of Father Carlos Ranninger, LC.
