Seminario Laudato Si' UFV-RC presenta Custodios de la creación en Radio María

Seminar Laudato Si' UFV-RC presents Custodians of Creation on Radio MaríaThe Laudato Si’ UFV-RC permanent seminar has created a radio program called “Custodians of Creation” on Radio María to spread the Laudato Si’ encyclical by Pope Francis. The goal of this program is to bring listeners closer to this encyclical and to deepen their understanding of it. The first broadcast was on October 30, 2021, and addressed the issue of water that Pope Francis discusses in his encyclical. To do this, they interviewed Alejandro Carballo, a young man who, through the missions of Regnum Christi, decided to help in Ethiopia by building wells.

The program consists of four parts. The first is a brief introduction to the issue that will be discussed in the episode. Then, an expert or academic familiar with the program’s topic will explore it in greater depth. Additionally, the program will feature a person or initiative that carries out this issue through their mission. The aim of this is to concretely relate the Laudato Si’ and show listeners how they can live the encyclical in everyday life. Finally, Fr. Xavier Gutiérrez, LC, offers a theological and philosophical reflection on the topic discussed.

Caring for our common home, recognizing human dignity, and wonder at reality are some of the themes that Pope Francis addresses, and each episode will explore them in a special way. Esther Lence, an alumna of UFV and member of the permanent seminar, is the host of the program. She is also assisted by Beatriz González and Clara Mollá, students of UFV, and Fr. Xavier Gutiérrez, who, in addition to being chaplain at UFV, is pursuing his doctorate there.
