«Bienaventurados porque han creído» – Ordenaciones diaconales en el Pontificio Colegio Internacional Maria Mater Ecclesiae

«Blessed are those who have believed» – Diaconal Ordinations at the Pontifical International College Maria Mater EcclesiaeThe diaconal ordinations took place on May 8 at the Pontifical College Maria Mater Ecclesiae (PCIMME). Eight seminarians from Nigeria, Mexico, India, San Salvador, and Venezuela received their ordination from Mons. Antonio Suetta, Bishop of Ventimiglia – San Remo (Italy).

At the end of the ceremony, Deacon Henry Chukwuezugo Nnamah offered words of gratitude to his bishop and the PCIMME formation team:

“I want to especially thank our formators for their invaluable work in service of the Church. Only God our Lord knows how many sacrifices they have made for the benefit of the dioceses to which we belong.”

Mons. Antonio Suetta also wished to address everyone present:

“I would also like to express my humble gratitude first to Mater Ecclesiae and to the Legionaries of Christ, with whom I have had the opportunity to meet at various moments in my life, first through my studies, then through their important collaboration with our diocesan seminary, and also for this moment of diaconal ordinations. Thank you for your testimony, for the good that Mater Ecclesiae does for the Church. A pastoral affection arises in me for the seminarians because they remind me of my years in seminary, a time I remember as an extraordinary period of grace and humanity. I pray to God that they may continue on the path of goodness in docility and joy, following the words that St. Elizabeth addressed to the Blessed Virgin Mary: ‘Blessed are you because you believed.’ I wish this for each of those present here, that it may be the grace that motivates their happiness and strength for the entrusted mission.”

After the ceremony, Mons. Suetta accompanied the new deacons during the meal.

A note about the diaconal ordinations can also be read on the page of the Pontifical College Maria Mater Ecclesiae at this link.
