The Center for Minor Protection (CEPROME) of the Pontifical University of Mexico published its latest book in the series «Prevention in the Church» with the theme: «The Mission of the Laity».
The book offers various educational tools that address the issue of child abuse prevention because “The entire Church is called to live the culture of prevention. The laity has a significant role in this regard.”
Through testimonies from abuse victims, reflections from different professional fields in Latin America, proposals for follow-up on reports, among other elements and guides, this book aims to strengthen the apostolate of prevention.
As part of the collaborations, Fr. Benjamín Clariond, LC, who has previously participated in CEPROME publications, as well as in prevention and abuse response campaigns, presents a piece titled «True love does no harm. The Loverboy method and child prostitution networks».

The Center for Minor Protection aims to be a space for interdisciplinary research and training that helps promote the protection of minors, offering dioceses and religious congregations the possibility of conducting specialized studies.
Its objectives are:
- To train and educate priests/seminarians, religious orders, pastoral agents, teachers, and social workers to foster a culture of ecclesial prevention.
- To develop digital learning programs and support the creation of specialized councils in each diocese.
- To establish guidelines, in agreement with the Mexican Episcopate, that include explanations of prevention measures, as well as support for interdisciplinary research and training for the CEM, consolidating diocesan child protection teams.
