  • With the presence of brothers and friends, the funeral Mass was held for the eternal rest of H. Anthony in Rome.
  • The body of H. Anthony will be transferred to Houston, United States, where he will be mourned and buried by his family.

Today, April 10, 2018, the funeral Mass was celebrated presided over by P. Eduardo Robles – Gil, L.C., General Director of Regnum Christi, at 6:30 p.m., for the eternal rest of H. Anthony Freeman, L.C., who passed away during the night of April 1 to 2 in Rome due to dilated cardiomyopathy.

More than 130 Legionary priests of Christ as well as religious, consecrated women, consecrated laity, and lay members of Regnum Christi were present in the chapel of the International College of the Legionaries of Christ and offered their prayers for H. Anthony, who was to be ordained deacon this year.

“Our desire for holiness is greater for you,” said P. David Abad, L.C., during the homily. “Thank you, Anthony, for nurturing in each of us the desire for holiness,” he concluded.

The body of H. Anthony will be transferred in the coming days to Houston, United States, to be mourned and buried by his family, friends, and members of Regnum Christi working in that country.

For more information about the passing of H. Anthony Freeman, L.C., you can review the statement issued on April 6 by the congregation of the Legionaries of Christ.
