On January 6th, the solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord, the religious Santiago Mejía, LC, Lucas Machado, LC, Angelo Senchuke, LC, and Carlos Blandón, LC, took their perpetual vows in the chapel of the General Headquarters. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Father Ignacio Sarre, LC.
Referring to the solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord, Father Ignacio Sarre, LC, commented in his homily: «God has come out to meet us and has manifested Himself to us, allowing us to know Him. He has told us I am your King, your Redeemer, your Lord, the Love of your life, your Friend, your Brother […]. His Word has reached our ears, His light has shone before our eyes, and I believe that those present here can say that, in a special way, this grace reached us through our family, through our parents, and for that we are immensely grateful and remember them today. We can say that in the Legion and Regnum Christi, God has manifested Himself to us in a special way, allowing us to know Him here and experience His love.»
«Our brothers can respond to the Lord’s call because He loved them first, because He revealed the love of His Heart to them, made them hear His heartbeat and vibrate with His message, made them grasp the beauty of the life He embraced: poor, chaste, obedient. The beauty of being all of the Father, all in the Father, all for the Father,» added Father Ignacio in the homily.
Angelo Senchuke, LC, commented on the day of the ceremony: «It has been very special to be able to definitively consecrate my life to God alongside brothers with whom I have been walking for years. While I watched everyone go to receive communion, I could perceive the richness of belonging to a family: parents who were my formative guides, religious brothers with whom I shared or share daily life. What a blessing to know that you have brothers who are always by your side! I summarize this moment in “thank you,” Thank you to God for my vocation, thank you to the Legion, and thank you to my brothers.»
The mother of Brother Santiago Mejía, LC, who was present at the celebration, said: «This has been a very important moment not only in my son’s life but in our family’s life. As a mother, I feel very happy with my son’s decision to make this commitment to God and the Church. It is impactful that these young people want to dedicate their lives to the service of God and the Church. I couldn’t ask for anything better for my son. It fills me with great hope and total joy. Moreover, I was impressed by the warmth of the community, the joy and fraternity of the brothers, the guidance and love of the parents.»

Angelo Senchuke, LC: Born on November 9, 1989, in Brazil. Joined the Legion of Christ in 2007. Made his first religious profession at the Novitiate in Brazil in 2009 and studied one year of humanities in Cheshire. From 2010 to 2012, he studied a bachelor’s in philosophy at the Pontifical Ateneo Regina Apostolorum. During his apostolic practices, he was a vocations promoter and assistant to novices and postulants in Brazil. In 2016, he returned to Rome to begin his bachelor’s in theology.
Santiago Mejía, LC: Born on November 20, 1984, in Colombia and raised in Jacksonville, United States. Joined the Legion of Christ in 2007. Made his first profession at the Novitiate in Colombia in 2009 and studied two years of humanities in Salamanca. From 2011 to 2013, he studied a bachelor’s in philosophy at the Pontifical Ateneo Regina Apostolorum. During his apostolic practices, he was a formation instructor and director of ECYD in Aguascalientes, Mexico. In 2016, he returned to Rome to begin his bachelor’s in theology.
Lucas Machado, LC: Born on May 31, 1990, in Brazil. Joined the Legion of Christ in 2007. Made his first religious profession at the Novitiate in Brazil in 2009 and studied two years of humanities in Cheshire. From 2011 to 2013, he studied a bachelor’s in philosophy at the Pontifical Ateneo Regina Apostolorum. During his apostolic practices, he was prefect of discipline at the vocations centers of Center Harbor and Rolling Prairie. In 2016, he returned to Rome to begin his licentiate in philosophy.
Carlos Blandón, LC: Born on October 30, 1989, in Colombia. Joined the Legion of Christ in 2007. Made his first profession at the Novitiate in Colombia in 2009 and studied one year of humanities in Salamanca. In 2010, he began studying a bachelor’s in philosophy at the Pontifical Ateneo Regina Apostolorum. During his apostolic practices, he was prefect of discipline at the vocations centers of Colombia and Venezuela. In 2015, he returned to Rome to complete his bachelor’s in philosophy. In 2017, he began his bachelor’s in theology.
