The 24th and 25th of April, the parish priests and vice-parish priests of the Legion of Christ in the territory of Italy held their second annual meeting in Castel di Guido, headquarters of the General Directorate of the Consecrated Women of the Regnum Christi. Some consecrated women, lay members of the Regnum Christi, and Father Hervé Peyrelongue LC also participated, representing the territory of France.
These meetings aimed to develop a training program for the coming years, propose ideas to improve teamwork and mutual enrichment between the parish, the local community, and the sections of the Regnum Christi. They also reflected on how the charism of the Regnum Christi and its apostolates can permeate and enrich pastoral work in parishes.
At the beginning of the meetings, Fr. Manuel Álvarez LC, territorial director of Italy, and Pietro Foa’, a lay member of the Milan Territorial Apostolate Committee of the Regnum Christi, presented the objectives of the work and discussed some topics that could assist group work.
To reflect on teamwork between the parish and the Regnum Christi in local communities, a meeting was held with Local Apostolate Coordinators via Skype and with the Apostolates Coordination Committee of Rome present in the classroom. There were also two group work blocks and two plenary sessions, one of which was presided over by Father Eduardo Robles-Gil LC.
This meeting will be held once a year in one of the parishes in the territory where the parish priest is a Legionary priest, to continue the agreements and share evangelization experiences.
