Visita pastoral Anáhuac

Pastoral Visit AnáhuacOver the past few months, the Archdiocese of Tlalnepantla, led by Cardinal Carlos Aguiar Retes, has carried out pastoral visits to schools and universities to hold a meeting and dialogue between their pastors and the educational community, a space to listen to the concerns of students, teachers, and parents.

It was on Friday, February 24, that Anáhuac Mexico University, North Campus, received the pastoral visit of Cardinal Aguiar, together with Mons. Efraín Mendoza Cruz and Mons. Jorge Cuapio Bautista, his auxiliary bishops, which aimed to share the pastoral plan of the Archdiocese of Tlalnepantla and to learn about the educational efforts carried out at the University and in the Mexican Section of the Pontifical Institute Juan Pablo II for Studies on Marriage and Family.

The pastoral visit consisted of three dialogue tables: one with academics, led by Mons. Efraín Mendoza; another with members of university life, with the presence of Mons. Jorge Cuapio; and the third with students, where Cardinal Aguiar Retes was present; in all of them, the educational model was presented along with a video highlighting the university’s main features.

Addressing the student community, the Cardinal said: “A pastoral visit is about transmitting the life of the Church and dialoguing in light of it. You are people who are being formed at the university, you have social sensitivity, and you realize that we are going through a time of change, which means moving from one cultural lifestyle to another, but it’s not clear what the new one is.”

In the dialogue table with students, where the rector, P. Cipriano Sánchez, LC, was present, the Cardinal listened to questions and concerns from several students. The topics of debate that emerged included the future of young people, culture, leadership, and the family as the fundamental axis of society, among others.
