On Saturday 27th of February, Familia Unida Internacional carried out an online “Marriage Renewal” titled “ Reconnecting 2.0”.
Through live broadcasts, parents Adolfo Güémez, Guillermo Serra, and Ángel Espinoza, LLC C, along with Marcia Gómez, couples therapist, shared their reflections with the marriages that connected for the occasion .
The topics were carefully selected by the apostolate Familia Unida to provide tools and resources necessary for the current challenges faced by marriages. Among the topics highlighted were: Forgiving and asking forgiveness, marital spirituality for a digital age and the family as a domestic Church.
More than 31,000 marriages from 30 countries in the Americas and Europe participated. Registration was free, and they received a guidance for exercises and dialogues in couples.
In total, they counted with the support and guidance of five priests Legiorarios de Cristo, Consecrated members of Regnum Christi, and more than 20 counselors from the different branches of Familia Unida, who, through the live chat, answered questions, gave advice, encouraging messages, and prayers for each participant.
Marriage renewal, together with all the pastoral contribution currently offered by Familia Unida, is an effort to support, train, and strengthen each of the stages of families as a core of society and a sign of hope for the current challenges .
