Recently, the information system Rome Reports published a brief interview with Eduardo González, LC, a religious studying in Rome, about the initiative of composing music to convey a little hope to people during the pandemic.

These priests, Legionaries of Christ, in Rome decided to make music during the isolation. Their song “Te Abrazaré” is a reminder of God’s embrace in both high and low moments.

EDUARDO GONZÁLEZ, LC:

“Despite the difficulties we face in life, there is always hope. What we want to do as a community is to give a lot of hope, be a source of light, and contribute with a grain of sand.”

This song was composed following the Pope’s advice to “be creative” in order to transmit faith during these difficult times when churches are closed.

“We must continue with a lot of creativity, in many ways, stay very close, and share with others our own joys and also our own difficulties. This situation is curious because it affects everyone. We want to find ways to respond and continue finding faith and hope.”

They aim to encourage people to, from their homes, awaken their talents and gifts, whether through art, volunteering, or music.

“Moreover, what you do, no one else can do. It is important that you find ways to reach out to those who need it most and be creative in living charity.”

These priests say they will continue creating music with the intention of bringing faith and hope, especially during this pandemic period.
