Father Antonio Roberto León Santacruz, L.C., was born on November 29, 1955, in Mexico City and was ordained a priest on December 24, 1985, in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Rome. He entered the novitiate of the Legionaries of Christ in Salamanca in 1974, professing his perpetual vows in 1982. He studied philosophy at the congregation’s Center for Higher Studies in Mexico and theology at the center in Cheshire, United States.
Throughout his years of religious life, he has dedicated much of his ministry to the formation of young people and novices, as well as to spiritual direction and pastoral accompaniment in Mexico, Spain, Italy, and the United States.
Currently, Fr. Antonio is director of the women’s section in Irapuato, chaplain of the women’s section in Celaya, and spiritual director of the Northern Mexico territory. He has been superior of apostolic houses in Hermosillo, instructor of novices in Salamanca and Monterrey, and spiritual advisor in multiple works of Regnum Christi. His career is characterized by his profound formative experience, his spirit of service, and his constant commitment to the evangelizing mission and consecrated life.
