Diaconal Ordination of Fr. Marcin Prokopek, LC

On October 26th, Monsignor Jan Zając, emeritus auxiliary bishop of Kraków, ordained Deacon Fr. Marcin Prokopek, L.C., at the parish of St. Adalberto in Kraków. Present at the ceremony were Fr. Valentin Gögele, L.C., territorial director for Western and Central Europe, the German novices, members of Regnum Christi, family, and friends of Fr. Marcin.

Diaconal Ordination of Fr. Jesús Muñoz, LC

Also on October 26th, in Monterrey (Mexico), Monsignor Rogelio Cabrera López, Archbishop of the Diocese of Monterrey, ordained Deacon Fr. Jesús David Muñoz, L.C., at the Parish of Corpus Christi.

In his homily, Monsignor Rogelio said to Fr. Jesús: “The deacon is the face of Christ the compassionate, the face of Christ who serves others, who serves the poor, the sick, sinners, and all those who seem to be always on the margins of the Church and society. It is the deacon’s role to bring the distant closer, to bring them to Christ, to bring them to the Church.”

“May the Virgin Mary help you, Jesús David, on this journey. Always keep in mind what the Popes have told all of us priests: ‘Be saints, be joyful, and be decisive.’ Legionary fathers, we have this walk ahead with the Church; help each other, assist the younger ones so they can breathe in the aroma of Christ in their community, because that is what can keep us united, happy, and committed to the mission,” added the Bishop at the end of the homily.

Ministries of Lector and Acolyte

The Sunday, October 27th, Fr. Eduardo Robles-Gil, LC, presided over a Eucharistic concelebration at the Legionaries of Christ International College where two religious received the ministry of acolyte and six received the ministry of lector.

Brother Óscar Ramírez, who received the acolyte ministry, commented after the ceremony: “God has been preparing me, trusting in me, and continues to form me. It’s a step forward, and I trust in His help and grace to joyfully reach ordination. It’s not something I’ve achieved by my merits, but His infinite goodness is guiding me day by day to encounter Him more.”

Meanwhile, Brother Benoît Benoit, who received the ministry of lector, said that “being instituted as a lector is a great blessing,” and explained: “It’s a ministry entrusted by the Church so that the Word of God continues to be proclaimed to all nations and, specifically, to all the people the Lord places in my path. It is also an invitation to meditate daily on the Sacred Scripture and to nourish myself from it.”

Let us raise a prayer of thanksgiving to God for these brothers of ours who received the diaconal ordination and ministries. Let us pray for them and for vocations, so that God, in His goodness, continues to bless us.
