During a little over six years, Fr. Jaime Rodriguez, LC, has been the Secretary General of Regnum Christi and the Legion of Christ. Now, with the consent of the general governments of the movement and the congregation, Fr. Eduardo Robles-Gil, LC, has appointed his successor, Fr. Andreas Schöggl, LC, who is currently the territorial director for Western and Central Europe.
According to Fr. Eduardo himself, in a letter sent to members of the movement, although the six-year term for which Fr. Jaime was elected concluded last October, it was preferable for him to continue with this responsibility since in a few months the extraordinary General Chapter of the Legion of Christ would take place, followed by the General Assembly of Regnum Christi. Fr. Andreas will begin his work as Secretary General starting September 1.
Fr. Andreas Schöggl, LC, was born in Austria in 1974, joined the Legion in 1993, and was ordained in 2003. He holds degrees in Philosophy and Dogmatic Theology, and from 2005 to 2010, he worked in the German section of the Vatican Secretariat of State. He has also served as the international director of communication for the Legion of Christ and Regnum Christi, just before being appointed territorial director for Western and Central Europe.
