In Mexico, 4 Legionary religious members “renew their hope of saying ‘Here I am,’ as instruments of God’s grace”

On January 3rd, within the framework of the 76th anniversary of the founding of the Legion of Christ and Regnum Christi, the Legionary priests of Christ João Paulo Fernandes Alves (Brazil), Jefferson Alexander Bohorquez (Brazil), Jefferson Douglas de Souza (Brazil), and Andrés Felipe García (Colombia) renewed their vows during a Mass presided over by Father Eduardo Robles-Gil, LC, in the chapel of the Anáhuac University Campus North.

In his homily, Father Eduardo first thanked God for “another anniversary of our existence in the Church. We thank God, merciful God, who continues to bless us with all kinds of blessings.”

Also present at the Eucharistic celebration were the consecrated members of Regnum Christi from Mexico City and the general director of the consecrated, Gloria Rodríguez. Additionally, some lay consecrated persons who carry out their pastoral work in Mexico and a large group of laypeople from the Movement attended.

“What a joy it is to celebrate together, as a family, that God is present! That God continues to call us. That God continues to guide us to bring His grace, His presence, His blessings to so many places,” mentioned Father Eduardo.

Referring to the liturgical feast of the Holy Name of Jesus, which coincided with the liturgy of the day, he commented: “I believe that among the loves we have in the Movement, today we especially celebrate Christocentrism; it is the feast of the Holy Name of Jesus. It puts Christ at the center of our lives. We are because of Him, we are for Him.”

“We are sent, we are chosen for a mission. We are chosen to make God’s love present in the world. […] How many graces are needed in this world that has forgotten the existence of God. How many graces are needed in Christians who, even believing in God our Lord, have Him very far away!”

Father Eduardo concluded by thanking God for the renewal of vows by the brothers. They “renew their commitment, renew that enthusiasm of saying ‘here I am,’ here I am as an instrument of God’s grace.”
