Rome, April 22, 2021. Fr. John Connor, L.C., General Director of the Legionaries of Christ, was received today in a private audience by Pope Francis.

Fr. John Connor stated in a note sent to the Legionaries of Christ that this encounter “filled me with joy and renewed the importance of filial love for the Holy Father as one of the main characteristics of our spirit (cf. CLC 14).”

In the same note, he expressed that during this meeting he shared with the Holy Father the steps taken in the path of renewal that the Congregation and Regnum Christi are undertaking, as well as asking for light and advice in the task entrusted to him. At the end, he asked for the pope’s blessing for the entire spiritual family of Regnum Christi.

Fr. John thanks the Legionaries for the various “initiatives that promote their magisterium and their guidelines” and invites everyone “to foster what we can do in this regard.”
