Union of forces for lifelong learning

Published on 11 November, 2024
Legionaries, News

The superiors of the South American community participated in a training course as part of an effort of collaboration and synergy to unite forces on topics of ongoing formation and experiencing the apostolic mission, among other subjects.

From October 22 to 25, a training course was held at the Piedra Roja Mission Center, Santiago de Chile, for the superiors of the Legionary communities of South America. Licentiate Celia de Juan delivered several lectures and workshops, providing tools to the superiors for better accompaniment of the Legionaries, and specifically addressing topics such as 1) common problems in consecrated life, 2) non-violent communication, 3) sexuality, and 4) affectivity, among others.

More than twenty community superiors participated, including three territorial directors (from Chile, Brazil, and Venezuela-Colombia). Present were the superiors of the communities from Chile and seven superiors from Brazil and Colombia. The remaining superiors joined virtually.

On October 25, the superiors from Colombia and Brazil visited various apostolic works of Regnum Christi in Santiago de Chile: Cumbres School, Finis Terrae University, Everest School, La Dehesa Mission Center, and the Church of the Holy Family in Las Pataguas. Additionally, during the course, they had the opportunity to visit and have lunch with the three Legionary communities in Santiago.

This course is part of an effort of collaboration and synergy among the three South American territories to unite forces on topics of ongoing formation, experiencing the apostolic mission, optimizing human resources, among other themes for Legionary mission work.
