Sixth Virtual Pilgrimage to Magdala: Discover the Land Where Jesus Lived

Published on 31 January, 2024
News

Under the theme “Lord, teach us to pray,” Magdala will hold its sixth virtual pilgrimage to the Holy Land, which will be broadcast starting Monday, February 12, 2024.

“We will walk through the Holy Land guided by God. After Jesus spent entire nights here in prayer, what did He do? He would leave His prayer, come out of His holy hiding place, and go down here, to Galilee, where He would find the crowds, the sick, the possessed, and He would proclaim the Kingdom of God to all of them. May the heart of Jesus, which left here, from prayer and encountered the people, also teach us to pray during this Lent,” comments Fr. Juan María Solana, L.C., director and founder of Magdala, from a grotto on Mount Arbel, Galilee, Israel.

Fr. Juan María Solana, L.C. is a Legionary of Christ priest, born in Puebla, Mexico. He has been living and ministering in the Holy Land for 20 years, where he was initially director of the Pontifical Notre Dame Institute in Jerusalem, and now he is the director of the Magdala Center. He will guide and accompany this new virtual Lenten pilgrimage.

Through the Facebook page “Magdala en Español” (www.facebook.com/magdalaenespanol)) and the YouTube channel “Magdala en Español” (https://www.youtube.com/@MagdalaEspanol)), pilgrims will explore the fourth part of the Catechism of the Catholic Church dedicated to prayer in the Christian life. They will immerse themselves in the richness of prayer, its importance, and how to incorporate it into their lives.

From Monday to Friday, 30-minute capsules with catechesis, interviews, and spiritual talks will be broadcast; and on Saturdays, workshops will serve as opportunities to deepen what has been learned during the week, offering practical exercises and additional reflections. Additionally, every day at 08:00 hours (Mexico City); 09:00 hours (Miami); and 16:00 hours (Holy Land, Israel), the Holy Mass from Magdala, Israel, will be streamed.

The pilgrimage is free. To receive updates, introductory talks, the video of the day, and extra materials that will complement the experience, subscribe on Magdala’s website: www.magdala.org
