To promote spaces for formation and fellowship, encouraging the integral care of their priestly vocation, nine Legionary priests from the Colombia – Venezuela Territory held their generational meeting in Santa Fe de Antioquia (Colombia).

Nine Legionary priests from the three communities in Colombia, of five different nationalities, gathered in Santa Fe de Antioquia from July 28 to 31, 2023 to participate in the first generational meeting of middle-aged priests from the territory. This activity, which is part of the integral formation plan of the Legionaries of Christ, seeks to foster spaces for fellowship and formation in order to develop skills in the integral care of their priestly vocation and to respond to the challenges concerning mission and life that emerge after some years of pastoral experience.

Through various facilitators, they deepened their understanding of the dimensions of physical, psychological and spiritual well-being. In this regard, Merce Madrigal shared with them her experience as a Consecrated Woman of Regnum Christi and God’s pedagogy in her life.

Fr. Abel Rangel tells us about his experience at the meeting: «These days have been a great opportunity to meet with fathers with whom we share not only age, but also the experiences proper to this stage. It helped us a lot to get to know each other better and provided us with tools to continue caring for our physical and mental health, in addition to the gift of vocation that the Lord has granted us. In an atmosphere of sincerity and joy, this experience motivates us to move forward and creates bonds of friendship among us, to feel accompanied in our mission. It has also been an opportunity to reflect on our own leadership in the territory, the need to be a good witness for others and to attract more leaders in order to extend the kingdom of Christ».
