El P. Marcin Jablonski, LC, ordenado diácono en el Santuario San Juan Pablo II de Cracovia

The Father Marcin Jablonski, LC, is now a deacon. His ordination took place last Saturday, March 12th, in the Crypt of the San Juan Pablo II Sanctuary, in Krakow. The ordaining bishop was the auxiliary bishop of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Krakow, Monsignor Robert Józef Chrząszcz, interestingly also born in Wadowice, the same town as Saint John Paul II. Concelebrating were 14 priests from the Legionaries of Christ from Krakow—where there is a presence of Legionaries and lay members of Regnum Christi—Germany, Spain, and Italy. Among them were the European Central and Western Territorial Director, P. Valentin Gögele, LC, the Spanish Territorial Director, P. Javier Cereceda, LC, and five priests from his community in Barcelona, Fathers Petit, Aromir, Pereira, Medina, and Caminal.

First Mass as a Deacon

The ceremony was in Polish except for the first reading, which was read in Spanish, and after the bishop’s laying on of hands, Fathers Valentín Gögele and Javier Cereceda helped the new deacon to vest with the dalmatic. During the rest of the Mass, Fr. Marcin assisted as a deacon.

Deacon Ordination

After communion, Fr. Marcin addressed a few words of thanks to his family and friends and members of Regnum Christi in Poland, and also expressed his gratitude in Spanish to the concelebrating Legionary priests. He made a comparison between the chapels in the crypt of the temple, which seem like a labyrinth where sometimes you cannot find the exit, and the follow of Christ, where there are moments when it is clear and others when the light darkens in your journey.

Presence of Lay Members of Regnum Christi

Among those attending the celebration were his parents, siblings, sixteen nephews, other relatives, and a group of Regnum Christi members. Additionally, the choir was composed of members of Regnum Christi.

On Sunday, March 13th, Fr. Marcin served as a deacon and preached the homily at the Mass held at the Dom Apostołów, the center of Regnum Christi in Krakow, for his family and Regnum Christi members.
