On March 25, Pope Francis invites us to the consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart

El 25 de marzo, el Papa Francisco nos invita a la consagración de Rusia y Ucrania al Inmaculado Corazón

The Facebook page of the International Legion of Christ (https://www.facebook.com/legionariosdecristo) will offer live coverage of the Pope’s consecration.

On Friday, March 25th, (liturgical feast of the Annunciation of the Lord) during the Penitential Celebration presided over at 5 p.m. in St. Peter’s Basilica, Pope Francis will consecrate Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The same act, on the same day, will be performed in Fatima by Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, papal almoner, as the Holy Father’s envoy.

The consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary becomes an occasion for unity for the entire Church around a common cause of intercession: peace. On March 25th at 5 p.m. (Rome time, 10 a.m. Mexico time), the Pope will perform the penitential act followed by the consecration in St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. We can all join Pope Francis, who is expected to lead the prayer, through the platforms that will broadcast it live. We are all invited to join Pope Francis’s request and to extend it to our family and friends.

Stefano Cecchin, President of the Pontifical Marian International Academy, will be in Fatima during the consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This sanctuary has a very special significance. “In the apparitions of 1917, we were in the context of the Russian Revolution and Europe at war. Mary made her presence known and asked the Supreme Pontiff for this. The popes have done it several times: Pius XII, John Paul II, have consecrated Russia, the world, the Church, and even the period of the coronavirus to the Immaculate Heart of Mary,” comments Stefano Cecchin.
