The votes to elect the superior general, the six general counselors, and the general administrator of the Congregation took place between February 6 and 8.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/subdir.legionariosdecristo.org\/el-estadounidense-p-john-connor-es-elegido-nuevo-superior-general-de-los-legionarios-de-cristo\/\">Father John Connor was elected superior general<\/a> of the Congregation on February 6. The following day, Father John presided over the Eucharistic celebration with the other capitular fathers. In his homily, he spoke about the importance of setting a good example and being spiritual fathers to our brothers, especially in difficult times. Drawing from the reading and the Gospel of the day, he proposed the example of David and John the Baptist and reminded us that if we let the Holy Spirit use &#8220;everything He has given us, He multiplies it. Not only for ourselves but also for our brothers. We need each other,&#8221; and he added: &#8220;I need your good example; it helps me persevere. It is something very simple in life, but very important.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, between February 7 and 8, Father Hern\u00e1n Jim\u00e9nez was elected first counselor and vicar general, and Fathers Jes\u00fas Villagrasa, Rafael Ducci, Pedro Barraj\u00f3n, Gerardo Flores, and Michael Brisson were elected general counselors. Father Jos\u00e9 C\u00e1rdenas was re-elected as general administrator.<\/p>\n<p>The new general government of the Legionaries of Christ is composed of priests from four nationalities (United States, Mexico, Chile, and Spain).
