Gerardo Flores, L.C., general coordinator of Safe Environments, and Isabel M\u00f3naco, the territorial coordinator, have conducted a course on &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/regnumchristi.es\/ambientes-seguros\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Regnum Christi&#8217;s Safe Environments Policy in Spain<\/a>&#8221; for the novices in Madrid and their instructor, Fr. Jos\u00e9 Felix Medina, LC. Throughout eight sessions of the safe environments course, the phenomenon of sexual abuse, its consequences for victims, the profile of the abuser, statistics on the phenomenon, and victim testimonies were addressed.<\/p>\n<p>Preventive measures and response procedures in case of reports were also discussed. Regarding the former, the novices studied the <a href=\"https:\/\/regnumchristi.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/10\/C%C3%B3digo-de-Conducta-y-otras-directrices-relativas-a-asuntos-de-ambientes-seguros-en-Espa%C3%B1a-para-los-Legionarios-de-Cristo_2018.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Code of Conduct of the Legionaries of Christ<\/a>, in addition to the selection processes for candidates to religious life, employees, and volunteers in the works.
