{"id":8118,"date":"2018-10-18T13:18:37","date_gmt":"2018-10-18T18:18:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/legionariosdecristo.org\/?p=8118"},"modified":"2025-08-12T19:52:22","modified_gmt":"2025-08-12T19:52:22","slug":"xxviii-international-trainers-course","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/subdir.legionariosdecristo.org\/en\/blog\/2018\/10\/xxviii-international-trainers-course\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00abBring people closer to God through the holiness of our lives\u00bb &#8211; XXVIII International Course for Seminary Trainers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"https:\/\/subdir.legionariosdecristo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/10\/cursoformadores2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-8120\" src=\"http:\/\/legionariosdecristo.org\/es\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/10\/cursoformadores2-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"XXVIII International Course for Seminary Formators\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/subdir.legionariosdecristo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/10\/cursoformadores2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/subdir.legionariosdecristo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/10\/cursoformadores2.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vatican.va\/roman_curia\/congregations\/cclergy\/documents\/rc_con_cclergy_doc_20161208_ratio-fundamentalis-institutionis-sacerdotalis_sp.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ratio Fundamentalis Institutionis Sacerdotalis<\/a><\/em>, published by the Congregation for the Clergy in December 2016, reminds us that \u201cseminarians, at various stages of their journey, need to be personally accompanied by those responsible for their formation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Seeking to serve the Church and, specifically, the formators of seminaries responsible for this \u201cdelicate mission of priestly formation\u201d (DVP 132), the <a href=\"https:\/\/sacerdos.org\/es\/instituto-sacerdos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Instituto <em>Sacerdos<\/em><\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upra.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pontifical <em>Ateneo Regina<\/em> <em>Apostolorum<\/em><\/a> organizes each year a course that, over the course of a month, addresses the most important topics in seminarian formation.<\/p>\n<p>The XXVIII International Course for Seminary Formators, held in the summer at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcimme.org\/index.php\/es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pontifical International <em>Maria Mater Ecclesiae<\/em><\/a> with the presence of 86 priests, began with five days of Ignatian spiritual exercises, preached by Father Bennet Tierney, LC.<\/p>\n<p><a ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"https:\/\/subdir.legionariosdecristo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/10\/cursoformadores4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-8121\" src=\"http:\/\/legionariosdecristo.org\/es\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/10\/cursoformadores4-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"XXVIII International Course for Seminary Formators\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/subdir.legionariosdecristo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/10\/cursoformadores4-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/subdir.legionariosdecristo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/10\/cursoformadores4.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>\u201cThis course opened my eyes to the need to evangelize, but above all to the need to give testimony of priestly life. God\u2019s people expect a lot from us. We must be able to bring people closer to God through the holiness of our lives,\u201d commented Father Yesse Jean-Noel, from the Diocese of Berberati, Central African Republic.<\/p>\n<p>Father Luis Ram\u00edrez, LC, coordinator of the <em>Sacerdos<\/em> Institute, said that \u201cthe course offers an update for those already engaged in the formation of future priests. It presents itself as an opportunity for study, deepening, and sharing experiences among formators responsible for accompanying the discernment, growth, and maturation of seminarians,\u201d and in this line, various professors and specialists gave lectures on relevant topics for seminarian formators.<\/p>\n<p><a ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"https:\/\/subdir.legionariosdecristo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/10\/cursoformadores5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-8122\" src=\"http:\/\/legionariosdecristo.org\/es\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/10\/cursoformadores5-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"XXVIII International Course for Seminary Formators\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/subdir.legionariosdecristo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/10\/cursoformadores5-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/subdir.legionariosdecristo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/10\/cursoformadores5.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Among others, 24 rectors of seminaries, 3 vice-rectors, 30 formators, 6 spiritual directors, 1 vocations director, and 1 novice master attended. Participants came from 27 countries: Australia, Brazil, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Colombia, Democratic Republic of the Congo (Kinshasa), Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville), Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Malawi, Mexico, Nigeria, Slovenia, Slovakia, South Africa, Eswatini, Tanzania, Uganda, Venezuela, Vietnam, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s never too late to learn. The training I received helped me and gave me the courage and joy to keep going. Later, Father Amadeo Cencini, F.d.C.C., addressed the topic of \u201cDiscernment and Affectivity\u201d for a morning. Finally, the course concluded with the topic of \u201cDiscernment and Conscience,\u201d addressed by Monsignor Raffaelo Martinelli.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to conferences and workshops, the course included moments of small group work, where cases and real situations were analyzed to practice decision-making through discussion and team listening.<\/p>\n<p><a ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/legionariosdecristo.org\/es\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/10\/cursoformadores7.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-8124\" src=\"http:\/\/legionariosdecristo.org\/es\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/10\/cursoformadores7-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"XXVIII International Course for Seminary Formators\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/subdir.legionariosdecristo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/10\/cursoformadores7-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/subdir.legionariosdecristo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/10\/cursoformadores7.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>\u201cI loved the time I spent with other formators from different seminaries around the world.
