Ignacio Le\u00f3n, LC<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>On Saturday, June 17th, Fr. Ignacio Le\u00f3n, LC received the order of deaconship from Cardinal Alberto Su\u00e1rez Inda at the parish \u201cLa Esperanza de Mar\u00eda en la Resurrecci\u00f3n del Se\u00f1or,\u201d in Parques del Pedregal (Mexico City). Fr. Ignacio Le\u00f3n, LC is a graduate of the Instituto Cumbres and was a member of ECYD.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ordenacio\u0301n Diaconal P. Ignacio Leo\u0301n, L.C. 17 de junio de 2017.\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jTL9klTPXYg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>At exactly 12 noon, the ordination ceremony began. Friends, family, lay members of Regnum Christi, and consecrated men and women were present at the parish. Also present was a group of students from the vocational center &#8211; minor seminarians &#8211; wearing their distinctive navy blue or red sweaters. About 40 Legionary priests and diocesan priests conce<a ref=\"magnificPopup\" href=\"http:\/\/legionariosdecristo.org\/es\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2017\/06\/Ileon1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-7529\" src=\"http:\/\/legionariosdecristo.org\/es\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2017\/06\/Ileon1-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"deacon like Jesus, the perfect deacon who came not to be served but to serve\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/subdir.legionariosdecristo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2017\/06\/Ileon1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/subdir.legionariosdecristo.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2017\/06\/Ileon1.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>lebrated the Mass. Fr. Ricardo Sada, LC, territorial director of Mexico and Central America, presented Fr. Ignacio to the assembly.<\/p>\n<p>In his homily, the Cardinal addressed the ordinand: \u201cThe Lord wants you to follow Him wherever He calls you. He calls you to be His messenger and for the beautiful mission of making Him present and serving your brothers. You will be called deacon like Jesus, the perfect deacon who came not to be served but to serve. How much need there is today in Mexico and in society for brothers deacons, for people willing to serve in love and charity!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As a very special detail, Fr. Ignacio Le\u00f3n, LC was born in Celaya, Guanajuato, on April 4, 1983. He was a student at <a href=\"http:\/\/cumbreslomas.com\/index.php\/es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Instituto Cumbres Lomas<\/a> (elementary) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cumbresmexico.com\/index.php\/es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cumbres M\u00e9xico<\/a> (middle and high school). He joined ECYD in 1st grade of secondary school and in 1st year of high school, he joined Regnum Christi. In 2003, he entered the novitiate in Cheshire, CT, USA, where he made his first religious profession. He studied a year of humanistic studies in Salamanca, Spain. He studied his bachelor&#8217;s and master&#8217;s degrees in philosophy at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upra.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum<\/a> in Rome. He worked for three years as a formator of humanists in Salamanca, Spain. On October 2, 2011, he took his perpetual vows in Rome. He completed his theology studies at the same Athenaeum.
