He was born on January 8, 1962, in Cottonwood, Idaho. After graduating with honors from high school in 1980, he attended St. John’s College in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts in 1984.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He received his priestly vocation at the age of 23 and entered the Legion of Christ. He began his novitiate in the fall of 1985 in Cheshire, Connecticut, and in the following years earned degrees in classical humanities, philosophy, and theology in Salamanca, Spain, and Rome, Italy. He was ordained a priest on January 3, 1996, by Archbishop Daniel Cronin of Hartford. He began his priestly ministry as an instructor of novices at our French-speaking novitiate in Cornwall, Canada, on the border between Ontario and Quebec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1999, he was transferred to the Apostolic School of the Immaculate Conception in France, where he exercised his priestly ministry as rector and superior of the community until 2014. He received a new assignment in Chicago, where he served as local superior of his community, chaplain of the Chicago Chapter of the Lumen Institute, chaplain of the men’s section of Regnum Christi in Chicago, chaplain of Catholic Professionals of Illinois, and spiritual director to numerous religious and lay people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also collaborated regularly with several parishes in the Diocese of Chicago. He frequently devoted time to the women’s congregations of the Missionaries of Charity, the Poor Clares, and the Dominican Sisters of Rosary Hill. In August 2022, Father Bruce was appointed local superior of the Spalding community in Atlanta and chaplain of the men’s section of Regnum Christi in Atlanta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
